Geroge Kahn and Courtney Lemmon Trio
George Kahn: "Here in Los Angeles, there's a jazz pianist and composer who's been making waves with his unique blend of contemporary style and classic jazz influences. George Kahn, drawing on the inspiration of legendary greats like Dave Brubeck, Ramsey Lewis, Joe Sample, Vince Guaraldi, and Wynton Kelly, has been wowing audiences with his music that captures the West Coast jazz scene of the 50s and 60s. Kahn's catalog of work is nothing short of impressive, featuring everything from vocal jazz explorations on "GEORGE KAHN JAZZ & BLUES REVUE" to the chart-topping "DreamCatcher" released by the George Kahn Quartet in 2020. Even beyond the world of jazz, his music has found its way onto the soundtracks of some of television's biggest hits, such as "Men Of A Certain Age," "ER," "The Young and the Restless," and "How William Shatner Changed the World."
Elaine Gibbs Quintet
Elaine Gibbs - Vocals
Jeff Settles - drums
William Bryant -piano
Stephen Lexsner -guitar
Elaine Gibbs began her life in music at the tender age of 13 where she got her start as many R&B phenomenons have, at church. Those early experiences still greatly influence her vocal sensibilities today. Her accomplishments are many, including her appearance on Season One of X Factor as one of the 'Over 30's' finalists, where she wowed judges with her interpretation of Stop Crying Your Heart Out by Oasis. LA Reid, Simon, Nicole and Paula raved that she is one of the best singers they have ever encountered. She has performed in over 25 countries, with some of the biggest names in the world of Gospel and R&B music such as the late Rev. James Cleveland, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Tramaine Hawkins and Shirley Ceasar. She has worked with Bobby Womack, Cherrelle, Miki Howard and the Gap Band. On a broader scale she has sung for Rod Stewart and performed at recent galas honoring individuals such as Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds, Angela Bassett, Stephanie Mills and Chaka Kahn. Film scores and TV tracks have also been part of Elaine's story, including voice-overs for Disney Studios and a collaboration duet with the late Ollie Woodson of The Temptations. She also sang for the film 'This Christmas' produced and starring actor Mekhi Pfeifer, and performed live with Justin Timberlake for Victoria Secret's TV show.
Peter Lodato
Diamonds/Divisions/Voids
Always fascinated by the uncertainty of human perception, and the duplicitous nature of vision, which can be both revealing and deceitful, Lodato creates paintings that delve into this duality. Upon first read they are austere, geometric abstractions. After further observation, however, the paintings begin to vibrate: brushstrokes become evident and the surface reveals that there are numerous layers beneath. The hard edges of his often bi-chromatic works dissipate into sensuous fields of color that seem to push space in and out. Lodato’s reductive, divided compositions are visual confrontations between the planar simplicity of form and the resonance of particular pigments. A disciple of the AbEx color field painter, Barnett Newman, Lodato’s sumptuously colored canvases echo Newman’s concept of using division as a way to merge different areas of the canvas into a sublime whole.
