Jazz Tuesday

George Kahn and Courtney Lemmon Trio

George Kahn: "Here in Los Angeles, there's a jazz pianist and composer who's been making waves with his unique blend of contemporary style and classic jazz influences. George Kahn, drawing on the inspiration of legendary greats like Dave Brubeck, Ramsey Lewis, Joe Sample, Vince Guaraldi, and Wynton Kelly, has been wowing audiences with his music that captures the West Coast jazz scene of the 50s and 60s. Kahn's catalog of work is nothing short of impressive, featuring everything from vocal jazz explorations on "GEORGE KAHN JAZZ & BLUES REVUE" to the chart-topping "DreamCatcher" released by the George Kahn Quartet in 2020. Even beyond the world of jazz, his music has found its way onto the soundtracks of some of television's biggest hits, such as "Men Of A Certain Age," "ER," "The Young and the Restless," and "How William Shatner Changed the World." What's truly remarkable about George Kahn, however, is his commitment to helping others. His efforts to end homelessness in Los Angeles have not gone unnoticed, with the City of Los Angeles recognizing his contributions with a Certificate of Recognition in 2012. Over the past decade, Kahn and his group have raised over $350,000 to support the development of affordable supportive housing for the formerly homeless. Truly, George Kahn is not only a talented musician, but a community leader who sets an example for us all."
